In commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the introduction of Superfast models (1969), Matchbox offers this series of distinctive models in blister packs with collector box.

Mark Ball of Rosemount, Minnesota, provides some intriguing information regarding #44 Honda Element.  Apparently Honda officials were not pleased with the color of the resulting model and ordered that Mattel cease its production.  Initial issues of the model are now reportedly selling for $10 each on eBay.  Mr. Ball also noted that #24 Corvette was released in two colors, black and dark blue.

Dave Cozens has provided additional information to fill in many of the gaps, including #44 Honda Element in its final approved colors.  He now has the proposed list for 2005.  You can see it at www.toynutz.com/Matchbox2005Superfast.html.
