MYSTERY VINTAGE CAST IRON MECHANICAL TOY

The photos below are provided by Steven Turner. They are images of a cast iron mechanical toy that he recently purchased at an Arizona estate sale.  The base is stamped "TAIWAN". According to Mr. Turner, the toy works on a system of very stout springs. To set, turn the horse 180 degrees so that the rear hoof locks into the base. The jockey sits on the side holding his crop. When the button is pushed/released, the horse spins and kicks at the same time, causing the rider to fall backwards.  Age of this toy is unknown, but the Taiwan stamp indicates a recent item, since Taiwan is not known to have produced such toys until a few years ago.  It is likely a modern reproduction of a much older toy.
